Mountaineer Recap: The Week of October 2nd

Hey folks!

So we had a mostly quiet weekend, then The Book of Briars sent this:

The hour’s finally here
Claims the chiming of the clock
If you wish to find the hidden key
Try looking for the lock

Man must scurry for the truth
For time is turning fast
Instead of searching in the now
Try turning to the past

• Recruits Faroutdude, AlisonB, and Deedust eventually figured out that the clue was pointing to the newspaper clipping about Brandon Lachmann’s (lock-man) death that King Rabbit left behind on the Burrow website. And the clipping now has a link that takes us to Susan Lachmann’s site about her son.
• There are weird discrepancies and pages that show up in google but don’t exist on the site.
• And then today hundreds of words started linking to a page on the site that just says “Are You Devoted?”
• So looks like we’ve started the fourth fragment. The one that should help fill in the missing spaces of the “spell” and unlock the first of the book’s four locks.

ALSO! MAJOR MAJOR NEWS! DG posted about the Ackerly Green founding documents and inside she found early sketches for a company logo that had a hippocampus (a sea monster) as its mascot. This is a huge revelation because a lot of people who remember stuff about the Lost Collection remember that mascot! More proof that we’re on the right track.

So let’s get out there, kill that fourth fragment, and do some magic, yeah?
